Walking

I am a big fan of walking. I am a fan of walking to improve health. I am fan of walking to improve mood. And I am a fan of walking to get out and see the world.

    Soft Trail Stroll Series

I lead group walks on different trails a few times a month. This free series is designed to help people looking for a simple way to become more active and to increase appreciation of our local soft trails. Walks are typically 1.5 to 2.5 miles and proceed slowly, think “stroll.” No one is left behind.

Join us on the trail. And you can join our Facebook group.

  • A fitness walking plan chart titled 'Walking Program' with a tree illustration displaying weekly walking goals from Week One to Week Nine. The tree features green blubs with tips on shoe checks, local parks, and repeating Walk Four. The chart outlines progressive weekly walking routines, starting with 10-minute walks and increasing in distance and duration each week, including specific instructions for walking days and distances.

    Couch to 5K Walk Plan

I have created a nine-week Couch to 5K Walk Plan. This free plan is designed for those who are currently not walking much or at all. If your goal is to walk a charity 5K or simply to begin a regular walking routine, this plan is for you. It starts from wherever you currently are—whether that is literally the couch or not. Take as long as you need to work up to walking 10 minutes a day, and then follow the weekly guides to safely make it to 3.1 miles.

  • Three women outdoors on a trail, with a signpost and trees behind them. The woman on the left is smiling at the camera, wearing glasses and a white shirt with a tree logo. The middle woman is wearing sunglasses and a black sleeveless top, also smiling. The woman on the right is in a striped shirt, gray pants, a blue cap, and holding walking poles. The sky is partly cloudy with a grassy area and buildings in the background.

Couch to 5K Group Walking Program

Sometimes we all need a little extra help or encouragement, so occasionally I put together a group where we can support each other as we use my Couch to 5K Plan to prepare for a charity 5K walk.

For a fee, you get a custom walk journal, online discussion group, group walks, accountability, advice, support, and more.
