Curious Movement and Balance Class

The Curious Movement and Balance Class helps participants gain movement confidence, expand movement possibilities, and improve balance. The class is for anyone ages 30 to 130 who can walk across a grassy space.

The classes are held in an outdoor playground environment and use standing, walking, stepping, jumping, crouching, reaching, pulling, and climbing. All class activities are optional. Do as much or as little as is right for you. Simply come with curiosity and willingness to discover what you can do.

When “I can’t” is an invitation to say “How could I?” what happens next?

Curious Movement and Balance Details

Details:
We are taking a break for the month of August.

In September, we will have a Fall Prevention, Protection, and Recovery Class instead.

Curious Movement and Balance will return in October 2026.

Fall Prevention, Protection, and Recovery Class

Fall prevention is important, but it isn’t everything. I don’t know anyone who has never fallen.

This Fall Prevention, Protection, and Recovery Class will address protection and recovery in addition to prevention so that you are better prepared.

Each hour-long class will open with discussion on the topic of the day. Then, class will have a block devoted to balance and skill drills, a block for strength building exercises, and a block for techniques for falling more safely. We will wrap up with gentle stretches, more discussion, handouts, and homework.

At the end of the series, you will have all the skills and techniques we have practiced, useful handouts, and two custom workouts that you can use to continue to build strength.
