National Trails Day is Saturday, June 6. Sponsored by the American Hiking Society, National Trails Day provides the perfect opportunity to set off on a local trail with others in your community. Join the movement to give back to trails and build a world where everyone feels welcome and has access to enjoy the great outdoors.
We will celebrate at Sycamore Trails this year. Meet in the gravel parking lot on the south side of 66th Avenue, just west of the Des Moines River. (If you are coming for the bike ride, consider parking in the lot on the east side of the river and biking over. This will help ensure enough parking for everyone.)
3.1-Mile (5K) Hike led by Roccasecca Fitness
1-Mile Walk led by Roccasecca Fitness
5–8 Mile Trail Run led by Capital Striders Turkeys
No-Drop Mountain Bike Ride led by Central Iowa Trail Association
Trash Pickup — bags provided
At 9:00 each walk/run/ride leader will briefly speak about their organization and what you can expect on the walk/run/ride.
We’ll let the bikers head out first, and then the runners. The hikers and walkers will start together, but then split on different routes.
Come join us!
